The Death of Snow
By: Greg Scaffidi
My dreams melt away
Watching the degrees multiply.
My heart goes astray
While the snowmen die.
Snow turns to rain
As the days get longer.
My plans are in vain
While the sunlight grows stronger.
Nature is greedy,
Taking all my white gold,
Taking from the needy
And stealing my cold.
It comes from the sky
And floats gently down.
Little flakes pass me by,
Then melt on the ground.
